Lisbon History:

Lisbon is a city with great history, the big huge buildings have their own history. It is one of the oldest cities of Western Europe also it ranks as the world’s longest founded city, this plays a great part in Lisbon history. In the 16th to 17th century Lisbon has been a part of UNESCO World Heritage. The city has lots of exotic things to know, you will love the architecture of the city if you are not an architect lover the buildings will fascinate you even then.

In 711, the Islamic preaches invaded the peninsula with that they invaded Lisbon too. They renamed the city as Al-Usbuma. The city was occupied after the second war happened in 205 BC against Carthaginians. Lisbon history has one tragic story and it is that the city had faced the most tragic earthquake of the time in 1755 and the almost the entire city got affected by it but they rebuild themselves with a leading person named Marques de Pombal he also created the commercial area which is still there. And now they are in one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe! Isn’t it fascinating?

Lisbon history has faced all ups and downs from earthquakes to fires to the severe financial crisis the city has surely been tragic and the city was in a great depression but nevertheless now the city is a great motivation for all with the essence of beauty. When the country, Portugal European community in 1986 it was a time when the country uplifted and started its growth.

Lisbon Culture:

Lisbon culture is super energetic you will feel the city’s in the air. Likewise any other city it has its own cultural values. They are very down to earth peoples you will see the very skilled brilliant artists performing on the streets. Lisbon culture has an herb of music in it and their famous music is Fado which means “common human feeling” the music is very emotional just like its name it actually represents the feeling of a common human. The Fado of the city is of two types one which is performed by the woman solely or the other is song performed the mix communities giving no race any preference.

Lisbon culture has a song and how come it is possible it will not have a dance. The culture promotes dance too they have the National Ballet area for all the dance lovers. There are other two spots which host the dance performances/skits and they are Centro Cultural de Belém and the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian which are considered to be the best ones.

One thing of Lisbon culture which is like a domain to them is POETRY, it does not matter how advanced the world gets there craze for poetry will never die even in early stages till now the city has a huge fan of poetry. While walking around the city, you will clearly understand why the country is too much obsessed with love, poetry, and romance.
