Souvenirs And More - Shopping

Shopping in Hong Kong is not a mere act of buying things, it is a form of recreation, a way of life. It is a paradise for shoppers and also a major reason why tourists throng the place. Hong Kong’s markets offer a wide and exclusive range of international luxury goods and souvenirs. Most of its goods, from world-over, are tax-free and sell at comparatively lower prices. In fact, its two shopping seasons better the prices a little more making it easier for travelers to decide when and where to shop in Hong Kong. A cherry on top is its well-trained and professional shopping assistants.

  1. Mong Kok

If you are looking for a one-stop-shop to take care of all your shopping needs, Mong Kok is where you need to be. You can cherish the experience of walking down the streets while browsing the sneakers, flowers, cheap fashion accessories, and even goldfish. The Ladies Market runs a kilometer along Tung Choi Street and sells beautiful souvenirs, stylish clothing, and traditional Chinese handicrafts. It is best to step out in the streets at night when the atmosphere gets all the more riveting.

  1. Langham Place Shopping Mall

The spacious and trendy, Langham Place Shopping Mall, is home to more than three hundred shops selling many international labels among other things. Its location along Argyle Street and easy accessibility via the Mong Kok Metro Station make the entire shopping experience a breeze.

  1. K11 Mall

For a different and more high-end shopping experience, visit the Tsim Sha Tsui. K11 Mall spans over an area of 340,000 square feet and is a place where the elements of nature and art combine thus making it the world’s first art mall. The place is not just for shoppers who can shop for a variety of fashion, beauty and lifestyle products but also for art lovers as it features nineteen exhibition panels of the local artists.

  1. Harbour City Mall

Also, home to the city’s largest mall, the Harbour City Mall, is a combination of three malls and four hundred different shops. It is also where the largest outlet of Louis Vuitton and the flagship store of Chanel is, multiplying your high-end shopping experience.

  1. Causeway Bay

For those with a tight schedule, Causeway Bay is the most convenient area to explore. The area comprises an array of markets, shopping malls, and cafes. You can check out SOGO, the largest Japanese-style department store in Hong Kong consisting of all sorts of electronics, fashion, and household items. Even if you don’t feel like shopping, just visit the Times Square at night for its glass walls that shine splendidly when lit up.

Some of the other interesting places to check out in Hong Kong are the Flower Market and the Sneaker Street for their reasonably priced chic sneakers and stalks, the Goldfish Market selling not just goldfish but also snakes, turtles, spiders, reptiles, and frogs, and last but not the least the Temple Street Night Market, for some of most intricate works of local culture and traditional craftsmanship. If that isn’t enough, there are a host of street performers that will light up your crowded streets and the entire evening.
