After The Dark In Hong Kong - Nightlife

Hong Kong’s nightlife comprises contemporary art, all-night clubbing, after-dark shopping, and high octane entertainment and it is this dizzying array of choice that proves that this Asia’s world city is second to none. You will be swept off your feet by the moves of the Hong Kong Ballet, the City Contemporary Dance Company, and the Hong Kong Dance Company or by the melodious performances of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. Take a peek into the bold and beautiful nights and hit the bars and clubs around the SoHo or Lan Kwai Fong. Hong Kong’s nightlife is fun, friendly and extremely diverse. The city is at its best after the sundowner when the skyscrapers light up the harbor while the pubs, bar, clubs, and night markets lure thousands every night.

Hong Kong is a compact city-state and its nightlife is even more concentrated. Majority of the bars, pubs, clubs, and restaurants are located around the Central area, thus making it the hottest Hong Kong nightlife area.

  1. Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo

The Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo is Hong Kong’s party central containing many drinking dens and restaurants. While Lan Kwai Fong is full of people looking to party away the night, SoHo with its more number of pubs and bars is a little more chilled out. It is also home to the world’s longest covered escalator which attracts wanderers more to the place.

  1. Ozone

Hong Kong’s nightlife is incomplete without a trip to one of its rooftop bars. It is said that looking at the skyline of Hong Kong from the tourist center or Hong Kong Island is like looking at the Eiffel Tower while standing on it. All you have to do is go over to the opposite side at Kowloon and head up to the chic rooftop bars, Ozone the highest of the lot and 118 floors up at Ritz Carlton hotel, for some of the most spectacular views.

  1. Symphony of Lights-Victoria Harbor

Hong Kong does not just cater to the party-lovers but to practically all kinds of lovers of life after dark. The Symphony of Lights-Victoria Harbor is just an example of that. The show holds the title of the largest and permanent light and sound show according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Though the iconic sight might seem to be a bit too obvious for the show in terms of the night scene in Hong Kong, it is definitely something a first-time visitor should not miss out on. The harbor gets lit up stunningly and features coordinated lights from about forty-five buildings on either side. For best vantage points, head to the Golden Bauhinia or the Tsim Sha Tsui.
